About Me After leaving a teaching career I became involved in setting up my own business. My business was successful and I enjoyed this success until my early 40’s when I developed M.E. From racing around the country and running three busy shops, being a mother of two teenage children and renovating an old chapel I ended up either in bed or on the sofa struggling with everyday life, bursting into tears when I had to carry the rubbish out to the dustbin! Being the workaholic that I was it took me two years to accept I was ill, thinking that I could override this illness and refusing to accept it. An “ill” person I just couldn’t be. So I fought on with the daily struggle, rest and sleep, get up and wash the pots rest, get up take the children out, feel terrible. The guilt I felt about not being “superwoman” only contributed to my ill health. Eventually I decided that if I was to spend so much time on the sofa then I might as well learn something. I was beginning to realize that I had to take another route to get better, look inside myself rather than fight the illness. After completing a Counselling Diploma and then an NLP course I was beginning to turn things around, but it was after reading John Eaton’s book on Reverse Therapy I knew I’d found the answer to the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. No one had so accurately described how I’d felt about my illness. I now consider myself to be completely recovered from M.E. and after training with John Eaton in London I now work in Sheffield as a Reverse Therapist. The technique is so simple but the results are excellent. Reverse Therapy is an educational process, not a cure, but by practicing the technique you can keep yourself symptom free. Reverse Therapy has changed my life, and I am committed to a process that really works. |
